Melanie Jacobson
Director 

From the tender age of 8 Melanie knew she wanted to be an accountant. Her parents operated a small business and she was always interested in how their accountant played such a pivotal role to help them relieve the stress and worry they had as part of running their business. Melanie became a Partner in a mid-size accounting firm, and has since worked closely with local business owners to help them achieve their personal, business and lifestyle success.

Melanie’s passion is to educate her clients so they can realize the opportunity to learn what they need, to achieve their own personal and business financial success. With this in mind, MJJ Accounting and Business Solutions was formed.

A key factor in any financial success is cashflow. Melanie loves working with business owners on their cashflow and helping them achieve their dreams. For this reason she is known as the ‘Cashflow Queen’. Achieving your dreams can be fun; Melanie can put some magic into your business and financial success!

When not working with clients Melanie enjoys travelling ‘off the beaten track’ to any destination that is not a popular tourist hot spot. In her spare time she enjoys undertaking outdoor fitness activities and socializing with friends and family.

Renee Spears
Director 

Renee’s career as an Accountant started just 2 weeks after finishing high school when she started in a local firm and quickly worked her way up to a Client Manager and later Associate. Renee later moved to Brisbane where she continued to gain a wealth of experience in dealing with clients across many and varied industries.

Like a lot of Aussies she decided to embrace the travel bug and moved to London to undertake a Finance Manager role for a European based company. After an extended time travelling the world she developed a huge appreciation for the Sunshine Coast lifestyle and decided to return. Renee became a Partner at MJJ Accounting and Business Solutions in 2014.

Renee takes pride in being able to assist clients to improve their financial results and achieve their goals, both business and personal. She goes the extra mile to ensure her clients achieve their success through education and continued support.

Renee spends her weekends embracing the coast lifestyle, enjoying days at the beach, barbecues in summer and socializing with friends. She has a huge love for travel and shares this passion with her husband who she has travelled to more than 50 countries with. They hope their children Hudson and Ariella share this same sense of adventure.

Sam W.
Accountant

Sam is one of MJJ Accounting’s accountants, having joined the team in June 2015. Her role within the team started out as an Administration Assistant, whilst she studied her Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting). Since graduating with her degree in December 2016, she came onboard the MJJ team as an accountant. In June 2017 she started studying the Chartered Accountant’s program, which she has now completed.

Coming from a background in event/retail management, Sam soon learnt her passion for the business world of numbers and budgeting. This interest is what pushed her to pursue a career in the area of Accounting and to continue her university studies.

When not at MJJ Sam enjoys spending her time outdoors in the sun. She’s a water baby at heart, so if the sun is out there’s a high chance she’ll be found down at Mudjimba beach.

Sam actually applied to study accounting straight out of high school; but two weeks before offers had to be submitted she changed her mind to event management thinking it would be more fun!

Kelsey B.
Accountant

Kelsey joined the MJJ team in September 2026, bringing with her a broad background across public practice and commercial accounting. Originally from the United States, she began her accounting career there before relocating to Australia and continuing her professional journey on the Sunshine Coast. Kelsey holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting.

Kelsey’s experience across public practice and commercial environments has given her a wellrounded understanding of the challenges businesses face. She enjoys working closely with business owners and clients to understand their individual circumstances and provide practical, commercially focused solutions. Kelsey’s goal is to make accounting clearer, more efficient, and ultimately more valuable to the businesses and people she works with.

Outside of work, Kelsey loves making the most of the Sunshine Coast lifestyle. She enjoys playing beach volleyball, spending time outdoors and, most importantly, hanging out with her two dogs, Kimba and Jojo.

Kelsey was once mistaken for Britney Spears by a group of excited fans who thought they had spotted her. This was an overwhelming experience for all.

Mollie S.
Accountant

Mollie is a dedicated accountant who is passionate about helping individuals and businesses understand their finances and achieve their goals. Having lived on the Sunshine Coast for most of her life, she enjoys building strong relationships with clients and providing practical, easy-to understand advice.

Mollie holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and is nearing completion of her Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification. When she’s not in the office, you’ll find her at the beach, at the gym, or spending time with her family and two French Bulldogs, Tilly and Bodhi.

Accountant

Having grown up on the Sunshine Coast, Jordan joined MJJ in 2025 and is passionate about building his career while helping clients achieve the best outcomes possible. Away from the office, he enjoys keeping active at the gym, improving his game on the golf course, and spending quality time with his partner and their two French Bulldogs.

Bronte
Graduate Accountant

Bronte is currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Business at the University of the Sunshine Coast, while working part-time here at MJJ Accounting. She has lived on the Sunshine Coast since she was 5 years old after living in Northen NSW. Bronte enjoys going to the beach with family and spending time travelling.

Bronte has a dual citizenship, Australian and Italian. She has been able to travel over there and learn about her heritage.

Accountant

Izzy is currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) at the University of the Sunshine Coast and is working part time here at MJJ. Izzy is originally from the United Kingdom and moved over the Australia over two and a half years ago with her fiancé. Izzy loves cooking Asian style dishes, she is also a runner and is obsessed with cats.

Levi
Graduate Accountant

Levi is currently studying a Bachelor Commerce and Bachelor of Business at the University of the Sunshine Coast, as well as working part time here at MJJ Accounting. Levi has lived on the Sunshine Coast his whole life. In his breaks between work and University you will find him at the beach surfing and fishing with his mates.

Madeleine H
Office Coordinator

Madeleine joined the MJJ Team in February 2025. She has a background in retail and the construction industry; here at MJJ she hopes to expand her knowledge even further with a whole new venture as our Office Coordinator. Born and raised in Bundaberg, Madeleine moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2022 to be closer to family however she spent much of her childhood holidaying here.

When not at work Madeleine enjoys spending time with her family, walking along the beach & exploring the hinterlands.

Gabriel B
Client Services Assistant

Originally from Brazil, Gabriel moved to Australia in 2018 with the intention of completing an English language exchange program. What was meant to be a short-term adventure quickly turned into a long-term opportunity and he decided to make Australia home.

Before moving to Australia, he worked in administration and accounting in Brazil. After arriving, he built a career in hospitality management, where he spent several years developing strong skills. In 2025, he returned to the administration and accounting industry, bringing a unique blend of financial knowledge, business acumen, and hands-on management experience.

When he’s not working, you’ll usually find him embracing the Australian coastal lifestyle. He enjoys spending time with friends and family, firing up the barbecue, and making the most of sunny days at the beach.

Client Services Assistant

Ebony is currently completing a Certificate 4 in Bookkeeping and Accounting and is working full time in Administration. She has a background in retail and as a compliance officer and is wanting to explore her options into accounting in the coming years. Ebony has lived on the Sunshine Coast her whole life. When Ebony is not at work, she is most likely spending her time on the farm with all the animals and loves doing mind-puzzles.
